Coils PB Lay Flat Barrier Pipe

Plumbing parts and spares cover the small fittings, repair parts, tools and treatments used for everyday plumbing work. The range includes push-fit and compression fittings, pipe inserts, tap connectors and fibre washers, basin wastes, service valves, cistern fill valves, plungers, plumbers' tools, and heating system leak sealers and noise reducers.

Fittings and repair parts

• Match the pipe: check the pipe material and outside diameter, usually 15mm or 22mm in homes, and the joint type. Push-fit joints on plastic pipe usually need a pipe insert.
• Service valves: fit one on the supply to a tap, appliance or cistern so it can be isolated for maintenance.
• Fill valves: cistern fill valves are made in side entry and bottom entry versions; match the inlet position on the cistern.
• Drinking water: fittings must be suitable under the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999.

Tools

Plumbers' tools include rotary cutters for copper tube, cutters and shears for plastic pipe, benders for copper, box spanners for tap backnuts and waste nuts, radiator keys and blowtorches for soldering. Choose cutters and benders for the pipe size and material you work with, and follow the manufacturer's instructions for any gas torch.

Treatments

Leak sealers and noise reducers are added to the water in a central heating system. Check the product suits the system and any inhibitor already in it, and follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety data.

Work on gas pipework, appliances and their gas parts must only be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
