Toilet fluids

• Waste tank fluids: go into the lower holding tank to control odours and treat the waste. They come as liquids, concentrates and pre-measured sachets.
• Rinse fluids: go into a separate flush water tank to keep the flush water clean and the flush working smoothly. Spray versions suit toilets that flush from the vehicle's main water tank.
• Septic-safe fluids: green and similar fluids are made for sites where the waste goes to a septic tank. Standard blue fluids are for sites with proper waste treatment, so check the label and the site rules.

Emptying and care

Empty the waste tank only at a designated disposal point, which most campsites and motorhome sites provide, then rinse it with clean water. Use toilet roll that dissolves quickly to avoid blockages. Spray seal lubricant on the seals and valves regularly to stop the rubber drying out and cracking, and use a cassette tank cleaner two or three times a year to clear limescale and grease. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety data for all toilet chemicals.

Fresh and grey water

Clean fresh water tanks and water carriers from time to time, especially after winter storage, with a cleaner that removes algae, bacteria and scale. A drinking water purifier helps keep stored water fresh. Grey water fresheners control smells from sink and shower waste.
