Buying guide: Door Handles, Hinges & Accessories

Lever handles

Latch handles: for doors fitted with a latch only, with no keyhole.
Lock handles: have a keyhole in the backplate, for doors with a mortice lock.
Narrow plate handles: slimmer backplates for doors with narrow stiles.

Measure the backplate and the position of the spindle and keyhole so the new handle covers the old holes.

Hinges

Butt hinges: set into the edge of the door and the frame. Ball bearing butts have bearings in the knuckle to carry the door's weight.
